With over 30 years of professional experience, our work combines the essence of an artist’s studio or workshop (Atelier) with those who deeply appreciate arts + culture (Culturati). Shivani Saini

Shivani Saini is an award-winning producer, consultant, strategist and skillful communicator with over 30 years of professional film, television, media and arts experience. She is a dedicated advocate for equity within the public sphere. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degre in Radio & Television from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), and has worked in all genres of media production; in every role from the creative to the business side. Her portfolio includes critically acclaimed television and film, groundbreaking museum content, cutting-edge theatre, international visual arts affairs, social media initiatives, and festivals that cultivate new works.
Shivani is a 2021 Reelworld Trailblazer Award Recipient. This award recognizes talented Canadians who have set themselves apart as innovators and change-makers in the entertainment industry; inspiring others by blazing a trail of excellence through their constant and committed efforts to improve and diversify our vibrant media landscape.
Shivani is also the Founder and Executive Director of Creatives Empowered, the first and only organization in Alberta for film + tv, media and arts professionals who are Black, Indigenous and People of Colour / Racialized. In this role, Shivani has created Canada’s first IBPOC Consultants Directory, a free public service that empowers IBPOC expertise to lead EDIA work in the cultural sector.
Career highlights include:
Blackstone: Associate Producer, Business Affairs and Digital Media Producer for seasons 1, 2 & 3 of the award-winning and critically acclaimed dramatic television series. Her fundamental engagement and social media strategies helped to grow Blackstone’s Facebook community from 0 to nearly 20,000 fans.
Making Treaty 7: Marketing & Communications Director for the world premiere in 2014 and in 2015, selling out each performance of a history-making live theatrical presentation that featured over 20 First Nations and non-Aboriginal artists.
Royal Alberta Museum’s Aboriginal Media Production: Senior Producer & Project Manager for 30 Films and a spectacular 360 Video that features Indigenous Peoples sharing their own stories, and authentically from their worldviews.
Shivani was the first South Asian Canadian woman to be on-air during prime time television as a Co-Host & Producer of Access Television’s HelpTV in Edmonton from 2001-2006, and a MuchMusic Intern in 1998.
